Fantasy Executive Director:

Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theatre is happy to announce its new Executive Director, Karen Hinton Ouriel. Ms. Ouriel brings an extensive arts administration background, as well as a solid business development history in North Alabama, to Fantasy. Ms. Ouriel is the former Assistant to the Producing Artistic Director of Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia, PA, one of America’s premiere regional theaters. Her tenure at the Walnut included seven seasons, where she also served as Casting Director for over 50 productions including national and international co-productions with Goodspeed Opera House, Coconut Grove Playhouse and The Derby Playhouse in England. Ms. Ouriel’s professional acting career included work in commercial radio and television, film, improvisational comedy, corporate industrials and regional theater across the country. A former teaching artist and acting instructor at the Walnut in Philadelphia and with the Roundabout Theatre Company, Creative Acting Company and Broadway Classroom in New York City, Ms. Ouriel relocated to Huntsville in November of 2002 to raise her daughter. Ms. Ouriel is the former National Account Coordinator for Armstrong Relocation-Huntsville. She is active with the Huntsville Chapter of Executive Women International, serves a member of The Arts Council of Huntsville and leads the Dramatic Arts team at Asbury United Methodist Church in Madison.
